Always ready to try new things and talk to new people.

I work in a public library when I'm not at rehearsals or drawing at home.

my art was in a museum today.

it was kind of a big deal. since i’m going into art and everything as a career. i’ve been going to this museum my whole life, since my dad grew up here and we visited often. and today i got to go in and show my parents my work. there were tons of paintings and a few sculptures and stuff from students in the area.

well here’s mine.

the whole thing was kind of surreal for me and i really loved it. until i saw this one painting. i looked across the room and thought “that is the most beautiful photograph i’ve ever seen.” got closer. it was a painting. i just started crying. i cried because it was beautiful and i cried because i loved the concept. but mostly i cried because it was done by a high school student and there is no way i can ever paint like that. i’ve just started my first painting this past week. and then i had to look at this gorgeous art by another kid my age.

it was a mix of inspiration and despair. as soon as i got home i couldn’t tell if i wanted to draw like mad or burn my sketchbook.

i’m still sort of shaking from it.
